The Pride in Naples tainted by homophobia

About 100,000 participants at the Pride in Naples, but unfortunately, homophobia marred the LGBTQ+ celebration

A vile homophobic act occurred around 4 a.m. against two young men who had arrived from Rome to celebrate. The attack happened on Via Santa Brigida involving an 18-year-old boy from Marano and his 16-year-old friend from Villaricca.

Returning from the Pride, the two boys from Rome were met with homophobic insults, at which point one of the boys reacted, triggering the reaction of the homophobic thugs who got out of the car, caught up with them and punched and belted them, and then fled.

Fortunately, the two homophobes were stopped and reported by the authorities, while the two young victims were taken to the San Paolo hospital with a five-day prognosis.

The City of Naples expressed solidarity with the young couple who were the victims of the homophobic attack and expressed its “firm condemnation of the homophobic assault. The episode does not sully the strength of an extraordinarily well-participated demonstration by associations, activists and individual citizens to confirm the welcoming nature of Naples, which fights every day for equal rights”.

The United States. A group of friends and an association that cultivates ethnic discrimination, racial superiority, and the fight against any diversity as essential pillars of its doctrine. These are the main elements of this multi-faceted novel, at times raw and hard, far from pity and useless turns of phrase, in which extreme fanaticism leads a father to desire the evil of his homosexual son, to the point of acting personally for the annihilation of this inclination. Yet “REDEMPTION DAYS” is not a novel that takes away space for hope, the same feeling that will take possession of the protagonist’s page after page, directing them to arrive very differently from the departure, a goal in which ideas change, the true virtues emerge, evil and perversions are finally removed, to achieve so, in different ways, their individual redemption.
