The League to the PD: “Let’s start again immediately for the law against homophobia”, Zan’s anger

The League to the PD: "Let's start again immediately for the law against homophobia", Zan's anger
Alessandro Zan – Matteo Salvini

The squares fill up in protest in favour of the Zan DDL while the League makes proposals that border on political and human decency.

The trap set by the League and Fratelli d’Italia to scuttle the bill in the Senate – thanks to the use of the ‘cut-off’ – has obtained the desired result among franchi tiratori, important absences, cries and shouts of joy over the lives of victims of homotransobia.

And now, the League’s national secretary, Matteo Salvini, is dressing up as a defender of LGBT+ rights and extending his hand to Enrico Letta and the Democratic Party.

The League is ready to discuss a bill in the Senate Justice Committee next week that would increase the penalties for those who discriminate or attack on the basis of sexual orientation.

This is the indecent and unscrupulous proposal addressed to the Democratic Party, after having scuttled the Zan DDL and celebrated without restraint in the Senate of the Republic. In addition to the damage, the mockery.

The proposal was immediately rejected by Alessandro Zan, a Dem deputy and first signatory of the sunk law, who replied on Twitter.

He replied: “With what dignity does Salvini, after stopping the hope of a more civilised country and cheering like ultras in a corner, now ask Letta to negotiate?

The starting point would be the text signed by Salvini, Ronzulli and Quagliarella. The latter – curiously enough – is the president of the Senate’s Justice Commission, the same one that for months has tried in every way to send the text back to the Senate, which then rejected it.

Andrea Quagliarella himself replied to Alessandro Zan: ”I am sorry for Zan, but at this point we will make a good law even without him”.

The proposal of the League and Matteo Salvini is not very credible and will certainly not serve LGBT+ people from homotransphobia. A political proposal that is simply a mirror for the larks, because most of the members of the League – as well as Fratelli d’Italia, for that matter – call for the transformation of Italy into a homotransnaphobic nation, misogynistic and devoid of any freedom, where the state and the rulers of the moment can safely decide the lives of its citizens as is happening in Poland and Hungary, nations taken as an example by these gentlemen.
